From September 4th through 8th the CleanSky consortium has met in Beijing, China, to host its third annual summer school. Under the theme “Advanced Methods and Theories for Scalable Cloud Systems” the program featured distinguished international experts as well as internal consortium speakers. This year, the summer school tightly integrated industry experts into the program. Highlights included a full-day tutorial from Intel on their scalable packet processing library DPDK, insights into big data research with the Chinese powerhouse Tencent, as well as a presentation of Huawei on their latest research. At the same time, CleanSky held the 3rd annual training workshop, including a visit to a startup incubator company on campus in Beijing.
