Song Yang

song_yang UPDATE: Song Yang has finished his fellowship in CleanSky and is now an assistant professor at Beijing Institute of Technology, China.

Fellowship: Song Yang joined CleanSky ITN on August 1st, 2015. He was selected for the ER 2 fellowship and performs data-intensive cloud storage service related research in GWDG in Germany.

Bio: I received the B.S. degree and the M.S. degree from the Dalian University of Technology, Dalian, Liaoning, China, in 2008 and 2010, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands, in 2015. My Ph.D. interests focus on network optimization algorithms in optical networks, stochastic networks and datacenter networks. My work on these topics during my Ph.D. has resulted in papers like IEEE ICNP, IEEE communications magazine, Wiley Networks, Springer Computational Social Networks, etc.

What’s your motivation for following-up your PhD with a PostDoc position, and why within CleanSky?
After graduation of My Ph.D., I want to strengthen my research skills and solid my publication background. Also, I want to explore some new related research areas. CleanSky is absolutely a very good opportunity for me to realize those goals. In this project, I conduct researches on aspects of cloud storage service, and I also have the opportunity to meet and collaborate with some other researchers.
What is your goal after finishing your fellowship?
I want to find a research position (e.g., assistant professor) in a good university.
