Abhinandan S Prasad

abhinandan_photo UPDATE: Abhinandan Prasad has finished his PhD in CleanSky and is now an assistant professor at National Institute of Engineering, Mysore, India. 

Fellowship: Abhinandan S Prasad joined CleanSky ITN in June, 2015. He was selected for the ESR 7 fellowship and is investigating energy efficiency with a focus on consolidating resources in data centers at the University of Göttingen, Germany.

Bio: I received my Bachelor degree in Computer Science and Engineering from NIE, Mysore, India and my Master degree from International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore(IIITB). After my Master’s, I worked in the computer networking domain especially on CMTS edge router and wireless management systems (WMS) for Motorola Mobility, Alcatel-Lucent and HCL, Bangalore.

My current area of interests include Cloud Computing and Network Function Virtualization. My favourite pastimes include listening to music and reading books.

What’s your motivation for doing your PhD, and why within CleanSky?
I always wanted to understand the relationship between computer science theory and real systems deeply. This is the motivation to pursue a PhD degree. I found a great opportunity in the CleanSky position, as it is greatly aligned with my research interests in Virtualization and Cloud computing.
What is your goal after finishing your PhD?
After finishing my PhD, my goal is to seek a career in the fields of academics and research..
